Paola Reyes-Melendez, first-generation Mexican-Puerto Rican, received her BFA in Fine Arts from the University of San Francisco in 2021, shortly after transferring from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she intensively studied Biological Anthropology in addition to Studio Arts.
After moving to San Francisco to immerse herself in public art, she got involved with Precita Eyes Muralists, a community-based inner-city mural arts organization devoted to enriching and beautifying urban environments through community mural collaborations. Under the mentorship of Susan Cervantes, Paola has worked on restorations, mosaics, and murals throughout the city, aiding her to grow into a San Francisco Muralist and now Arts Education Director at the organization. Her work is dedicated to making art accessible to all, encouraging change in social structures, and calling for environmental changes.
